This deck holds a special place in my heart because it’s my very first giveaway win ever!!! I still can’t believe I won a black‑coloured indie deck! 🤯🙈 Huge thank you to Rachael herself for making this moment so exciting — this deck has been such a joy to explore.
The Wandering Tarot blends classic tarot structure with cosmic themes, lunar symbolism, and exquisite black‑and‑white pointillism artwork.
Unboxing & Flipthrough
My First Impressions
The first time I opened this deck, I was immediately drawn in by how detailed and intricate the art feels, even without colour. The black and white aesthetic feels intentional and powerful — it cuts through distraction and brings you straight to the heart of each card’s meaning.
It feels like wandering through a dreamscape or the cosmos, where every dot, shadow, and star has purpose.
The Artwork
The artwork in The Wandering Tarot is stunning.
Illustrated in black and white pointillism by Rachael Jean, the cards have that soft, almost ethereal texture that comes from patience and precision. Pointillism isn’t easy — every dot matters — and that care shows in every card.
The deck weaves together traditional Rider‑Waite‑Smith symbolism with astrological and lunar motifs. You’ll notice moons, stars, planets, and shadowy figures throughout, giving the deck a cohesive cosmic feel.
The Major Arcana have titles instead of numbers, and the Minor Arcana suits are reimagined as:
✔ Moons for Cups
✔ Swords remaining Swords
✔ Crystals for Wands
✔ Stars for Pentacles
This thoughtful reinterpretation brings a fresh voice to familiar themes, tying them into the wandering, starlit aesthetic of the deck.
Box, Card & Finish
The deck consists of 81 cards printed on 350 gsm matte cardstock with silver laser edging and silver laser foiling details that twinkle like stars. The text on each card also appears embossed, which gives it a lovely tactile depth. Everything truly shimmers and feels magical.
The deck includes four extra cards:
✔ The New Moon
✔ The Full Moon
✔ The Wanderer
✔ An Altar Card
The packaging is equally gorgeous — a fully printed rigid box with an embossed title, matte finish, and silver laser foiling detail, as well as a drawstring calico bag to protect your cards on the go.
Everything shimmers and twinkles~
Guidebook
The 192‑page guidebook is beautifully put together with a matte finish like rose petals and silver laser foiling detail.
It includes:
✔ Card meanings and interpretations
✔ Full‑page artwork references
✔ Spreads designed for cosmic reflection
✔ Guidance rooted in lunar, astrological, and intuitive themes
It’s detailed and thoughtful without being overwhelming, making it great for both intuitive and structured readings.
How the Deck Works
The Wandering Tarot works as a traditional tarot deck with a Rider‑Waite‑Smith backbone, but its reinterpretations and extra cards give it a cosmic twist. You can use it for:
✔ Daily pulls
✔ Full spreads
✔ Lunar or celestial readings
✔ Shadow and inner work
✔ Creative reflection
Because of the black and white design and pointillism artwork, readings naturally feel slower, gentler, and more contemplative — like you’re walking through a starfield with intention.
Reading Style and Themes
The deck leans into:
✔ Cosmic symbolism (stars, moons, planets)
✔ Shadow work and inner reflection
✔ Lunar cycles and astrological themes
✔ Intuitive, dreamy, and meditative readings
It’s less about flashy visuals and more about emotional and intuitive depth.
Who It’s For
This deck is perfect for anyone who:
✔ Loves black and white or minimalist tarot aesthetics
✔ Enjoys lunar, astrological, or cosmic themes
✔ Wants a deck that encourages reflection and quiet insight
✔ Likes decks that combine traditional symbolism with artistic reinvention
✔ Appreciates detailed artwork and a strong intuitive feel
My Honest Thoughts
I am honestly blown away by this deck. Winning it was a thrill, but falling in love with it has been an even bigger joy. The quality — from the matte cardstock to the silver foiling — feels premium and intentional, like the cosmos were woven into each card.
I especially love how the black and white design helps cut through noise and focus on meaning. Rachael said once that the aesthetic helps readers get straight to the heart of the message, and I couldn’t agree more.
The deck feels dreamy, cosmic, and reflective without being overly abstract. If you want a tarot experience that feels like wandering under the stars with intention and depth, this deck is a beautiful choice.
It’s intuitive, elegant, and meaningful — a deck I keep returning to when I want clarity with soul.
