Every August, my social media feeds start filling up with Lion’s Gate Portal posts.

Some say it’s the most powerful day of the year to manifest.

Others claim you’ll receive instant abundance if you perform the right ritual on August 8.

Then there are the posts warning everyone to prepare for massive spiritual upgrades, downloads, and life-changing events.

After a while, it all starts sounding the same.

Don’t get me wrong. I think the Lion’s Gate Portal is a meaningful time for reflection and intention. But somewhere along the way, the conversation shifted from symbolism and personal growth to promises that simply aren’t grounded in astrology or spiritual practice.

So let’s separate some of the biggest myths from the facts.

That doesn’t make it meaningless.

It simply means we should understand what it actually is instead of treating it like a formal astrological transit.

I don’t treat the Lion’s Gate Portal as a day when the universe suddenly starts listening.

I treat it as a yearly checkpoint.

What habits have I outgrown?

What dreams have I quietly stopped believing in?

What would I create if fear wasn’t making my decisions?

Sometimes I pull a tarot spread.

Sometimes I simply spend time outside and reflect.

There’s no pressure to make it complicated.

If I do reach for my cards, I don’t ask what I’m going to manifest or whether abundance is on its way. I use the Lion’s Gate Portal as an opportunity to check in with myself and see where I’m being invited to grow.
