by | Dec 13, 2021

Rainbow Moon Tarot is one of those decks that immediately stands out because of its intention and representation.

Created by Samantha West and published by Rockpool Publishing, this deck was built around the idea of inclusivity, diversity, and representing real bodies in tarot.

It feels modern, intentional, and very community-driven right from the start.

My First Impressions

The first thing that stood out to me was how colorful and expressive the deck is. It has a clean, minimal feel, but still manages to carry a lot of personality in each card.

It doesn’t feel like a traditional tarot deck, but it still holds onto the core structure, which makes it both approachable and refreshing.

The Artwork

The artwork is vibrant, modern, and very much reflective of Sam’s style.

Samantha West created this deck with the intention of representing real bodies, and that really shows. The figures across the cards feel diverse, natural, and human.

What I really appreciate is that this wasn’t just an idea. Sam actually put out a call on Instagram for volunteers and took the time to review hundreds of submissions to include a wide range of bodies and identities in the deck.

That level of intention and community involvement makes the deck feel more personal and meaningful.

Box, Card & Finish

The card stock has a matte finish, which keeps the artwork looking soft and clean without glare.

The deck also features shiny rainbow silver gilded edges, which add a fun and eye-catching detail that fits the overall energy of the deck.

It comes in Rockpool Publishing’s signature sturdy rigid box, which is great for storage and durability.
