My First Impressions

I actually found this deck while I was specifically looking for something cottagecore-inspired, and the second I saw it, I just knew. With spring here, I’ve been noticing so many bunnies and birds out in the yard lately, and it kind of put me in that soft, naturey headspace. So when this deck popped up, it just felt perfect for the moment I’m in right now.

The Artwork

The artwork by Jane Carkill is honestly what sold me. It’s all done in watercolor and has that really soft, slightly dreamy look to it. Nothing feels too sharp or overly polished—it’s more cozy and lived-in. There are little woodland animals, witch tools, herbs and more. It feels whimsical, but not in an over-the-top way—more like quiet, everyday magic.

Box, Card & Finish

The box is really nice—it’s sturdy and has a magnetic closure, which I always appreciate because it just feels a bit more secure and durable.

The cards themselves have a smooth matte finish and feel really good to shuffle. They don’t stick or feel overly glossy, which I like a lot. My only issue is that the edges can scuff kind of easily, especially if you’re using the deck often. It’s not terrible, but it’s noticeable.

Guidebook

The guidebook is actually well done. It includes:

I usually end up reaching for this one in the afternoon when I’m having my tea—it’s honestly the perfect little “tea party” fortune reading deck. It just fits that quiet, cozy moment so well.

That said, aside from the wear on the edges, I have zero complaints. It’s one of those decks people instantly connect with, and it just has this really comforting, easy energy to it. I honestly hope there’s a tarot version of this someday because I would absolutely buy it.
